Introducing myself

Hi, I'm Zarna, part of the layout DT and Deanne's blog assistant so I thought I better pop by and intoduce myself since I'll be posting here from time to time.

I have been a scrapbooker for about 5 years, but since my kids arrived on the scene - Charlotte 2yrs (pictured with me above) & Jack 4mths - I have found I make more cards, crazy right? Since kids are the best excuse for scrapbooking, but smaller canvas means (generally) quicker project for my limited crafting time. So I'm looking forward to telling DH that I have "work to do" and hide away at my craft desk to make some layouts for JSM & The Blend.

Speaking of making layouts for JSM & The Blend I should mention that Deanne has sent out the first set of songs & sketches to the DT and we are hard at work getting our layouts ready to share with you on Feb 1st so make sure you come back and check it out! I promise you won't be disappointed! It's a beautiful sketch and there are so many possibilities for inspiration from this month's songs!!!

I have the Design Team picked..

and ,boy, I wanted EVERYONE on MY team!!! I'm greedy!!! hehe! But I had to narrow it down so as to not get myself bogged down, and have chosen 9 card team members and 9 layout team members. I have heard from some so far, but not sure if I'll make the announcement tomorrow or not.It depends on if I hear from them. I MAY be able to do it later tomorrow evening.So be watching.

And to ANYONE who applied and didn't make it this time, don't worry! I'll be emailing you to ask if you'd like to be on DESIGN TEAM #5, after this group of lovely ladies are done.

Design Team Call!

I would like to send out a HUGE thanks to my Design Teams that I have had here previously.They have created marvellous layouts and cards using my sketches.


Right now I'm extending an invitation to all you scrappers and card-makers out there to apply for my fourth term Design Team!! Previous DT members can also apply! I am looking for some scrapbookers and cardmakers to join me here at my Just My Sketches blog as a Layout Design Team member or a Card Design Team member.

Every month on the 1st and 15th I offer a new layout and a card sketch to my readers. Your duty would be to complete either a scrapbook page or card (depending on what DT you are on) to showcase along with my sketches,using a song as inspiration. You will be required to do 2 a month, and that's it!

Sorry, but I can't compensate you with anything :o( BUT I will promote your blog on my blog, and highlight YOU twice a month on my blog.

For anyone who is interested, simply email me a link to your blog or a gallery where I can see your creations. Also, write a short paragraph as to why you would like to be on the design team and what music means to you, how it makes you feel and how it inspires you.

Please email me with this address if you are interested in the layout OR card team. Please specify in the email.

This call will end on JAN 23rd and I will announce my team on JAN 25th.The position starts FEB 1st, 2010 and runs until the end of JUNE 2010. (5 month term)

A new look and new twist for my SKETCH blog!!

I'm changing up this blog a bit! I'll be posting sketches but there will be a twist! You have to BLEND the sketch with a song! I love listening to Sirius radio and "The Blend" station plays a wonderful "blend" of great songs, old and new! So, I'll be posting a layout and card sketch every 2 weeks, and along with it 5 songs to choose from to inspire you. You can let the title inspire you or choose a stanza from the song, or even let the theme of the song inspire you.

I'll be posting a design team call tomorrow!!!

I think this is gonna be FUN!!!!
